RimWorld
RimWorld is a strategy game for PC about the hardships of space colonization. As a leader of a colony, you must manage resources, fend off hostile clans and alien robots, conduct marriages, and just be a wise demi-god. Download RimWorld and lead your capricious people to prosperity!
Not a Dreamworld
RimWorld full game is presented as an isometric strategy. You have 2D building and unit models scattered on a map that resembles a giant tabletop game. But despite these Flatland visuals, the game’s world feels rather alive than static.
Every minute something’s happening in your domain. Workers busily skitter. Guards patrol the area looking for hostile mechanoids. Random animals hop and frolic around like it’s the merry month of May.
And once in a while, an enemy Faction or a squad of Ancient soldiers pay a visit. That’s when spectacular shootouts and cannonades occur, shaking the screen with thermonuclear explosions. It all makes the game feel pretty dynamic.
Stranded in Space
Our RimWorld review can promise that it’s not just a colony sim. It’s a whole cocktail of genres and influences. First, it’s a strategy. You must organize your people, feed them, get resources, and craft medications.
Then, there’s a Sims vibe. Your units aren’t soulless toy soldiers. They can fall in love, bicker, become families, cherish dreams, and so on. If you enjoy melodramatic backstories, RimWorld game can be a good treat.
And of course, there’s action. Numerous enemy clans will raid your colony to plunder. Mechanoids, the pissed off robots, stay loyal to the Kill All Humans motto. And eerie Ancient troops rise from their crypts to have a cup of tea and a bite of gristle from your colonists’ bodies as a crumpet substitute. So, prepare to be a war guru.
Communism on Your PC
The game is available on PC with additional RimWorld versions for Mac and Linux. Thanks to its ascetic visuals, RimWorld specs are limited to merely 500 MB of disk space and 4 GB of RAM.
Considering that RimWorld costs about $9, this is one of the cheapest, yet enjoyable games on Steam. Although its DLCs that offer some extra savory content charge handsomely.
What It’s Like to Be a God
RimWorld is a great game for all fans of the space colonization genre. And apart from colony management, you also get to fiddle with survival, personal relationships and dramas, fierce action, and even house decorating. If all that arouses your gaming appetite – download RimWorld.
